Albania will be holding the chairmanship of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) for the first six months of 2021.
Deputy Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj attended the video conference held with the Foreign Ministers of the participating countries.
The meeting focused on discussions on jointly fighting the pandemic and the ongoing effort to strengthen regional links.
Gent Cakaj stressed that Albania will be officially assuming the presidency of this organization for the first six months of 2021.
“Recently, Albania led the initiative of the US Adriatic Charter (A5), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and will now lead the Black Sea Economic Cooperation,” Cakaj said.
“This is proof not only of the growing strength of Albania in regional initiatives, but also of the international partners’ growing trust toward the skills of Albanian diplomacy,” Cakaj concluded. /ibna
