The Albanian government is trying to strike a cooperation deal with Greece in the domain of tourism. Minister of Urban Development and Tourism, Eglantina Gjermeni is in Athens where she has discussed with her Greek counterpart, Olga Kefaloniani over reaching a cooperation agreement.
Official sources from the Albanian ministry of Tourism told IBNA news agency that ministers Gjermeni and Kefaloniani agreed on preparing a cooperation agreement in the domain of tourism between the two countries.
Albanian ministry of Tourism didn’t issue any details over the terms of this agreement, while the Greek ministry of Tourism didn’t officially report on this negotiation.
Minister Gjermeni is participating in the proceedings of the High Level Conference in Athens over the strategy of the development of coastal areas.
This conference aims to discuss opportunities and challenges of boosting up sustainable economic growth of the sector of tourism, maritime sector and coastal areas.
EU strategy on the development of tourism in coastal areas defines 14 concrete actions on a European level and proposes a number of recommendations for member countries, local and regional authorities and actors of the industry of tourism. /ibna/
