Prime minister Edi Rama was in Qatar as part of a delegation with several ministers, MPs and mayors, in an effort to attract investments from the rich Arab countries in Albania and to send Albanians to work in Qatar.
Prime minister Rama met with the prime minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani and Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The talks were focused on the possibilities of cooperation in the domain of tourism and agriculture.
Great interest was also manifested for cooperation in the domain of air transport, where “Qatar Airways” is one of the main airline in this sector.
The Emir of Qatar expressed his readiness to welcome many Albanians in Qatar, where they can be employed mainly health, education and construction sector.
At the end of the meeting with the prime minister of Qatar, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Bushati signed on behalf of the Albanian delegation, two agreements with the government of Qatar (photo).
One of the agreements relates to the regulation concerning the employment of Albanian nationals in Qatar.
Meanwhile, the other agreement, “Memorandum of Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the State of Qatar for collaboration in the health sector”.
During this visit, Rama was accompanied by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, minister of Economic Development, Arben Ahmetaj, minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto, minister of Tourism, Eglantina Gjermeni, MPs Eduard Shalsi and Evis Kushi and mayors of Durres and Lezha, Vangjush Dako and Viktor Tusha. /ibna/
