Prime Minister Edi Rama received today the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe, Hans Kluge.
Rama said that, during the meeting, Kluge expressed the most positive assessments for the management of the pandemic situation in Albania.
“Met with the WHO director for Europe, Hans Kluge, who, as he did publicly in the press conference, expressed to me the most positive thoughts on managing the pandemic situation in Albania”, Rama announced after the meeting.
Dr. Hans Kluge was invited by Minister Manastirliu and will pay a two-day visit to Albania.
During a press conference with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ogerta Manastirliu, the WHO Director for Europe congratulated Albania on the rapid steps it has taken from the beginning to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I want to express my gratitude to the Albanian government for its immediate and decisive response to COVID-19. Albania is one of the few countries that did not suffer a first wave, as it immediately decided to come under strict control. Since January, the Albanian government has been building structured instruments, including 3 clear strategies,” Kluge said during the conference. /ibna
