Albanian authorities have presented in front of the World Trade Organization, the reforms that the country has made in economy and trade during the past five years.
On behalf of the Albanian government, deputy Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Enterprise, Mr. Ervin Mete presented in front of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, what he considered the achievements and the economic and trade reforms for the period 2010-2015.
The report of the Albanian government and the developments in Albania were considered successful and in the right direction for a sustainable growth of the country.
Members of WTO, among which the European Union, United States of America, Canada, Turkey, China, Brazil, Montenegro, Moldova, etc., praised the reforms undertaken for economic recovery, foreign investments, investments in infrastructure and facilities relating to commerce and customs.
The member countries praised Albania for the new approach in holding consultations with the business sector, by encouraging further consolidation in this cooperation.
EU accession was considered as one of the main boosts for economic and commercial development. Albania was also praised and given its support by member countries for the continuation of the economic consolidation of the country.
Albania is a member of WTO since 8 September 2000, playing an active role in the negotiations that are held on a committee level. /balkaneu.com/
