Albania will participate in the “Expo Milano 2015-We feed the planet, energy for life” International Fair, which is held every 5 years in one of the most renowned cities of the world. The decision was taken by the government in its last meeting, by allocating a financial fund.

The value of rent for the use of the Albanian stand in the “Expo Milano 2015” International Fair is 246 500 Euros.

The government decided for the investment cost to be paid by the institution that implements the project, Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Enterprise and by private, state donors and other legal sources.

Albanian Agency for the Development of Investments (AIDA) will manage “Expo Milano 2015” project.

The government decided for the participation of the country in this fair to be driven by the main theme of the fair, “We feed the planet, energy for life” based on the following topics:

Science and technology on food safety and quality; Science and technology on agriculture and biodiversity; Innovation in the chain of distribution for agrifood.

In 2010, this fair was hosted in Shanghai (China) and Albania was presented with its stand. In 2020, the world fair will be hosted in Dubai (UAE).

In the recent years, there has been an extra effort of the Albanian government to promote tourism. Tourism in Albania is almost unorganized. Tourists mainly consists on Albanians who live in emigration and tourists coming from the Balkan region. In the recent years, there’s been an increase in the number of non Albanian tourists, but they have faced with a chaotic situation: bad roads, a miserable infrastructure of services, a lack of tourist information, lack of drinking water, shortages in power supply, poor hotel services, poor services in restaurants and high prices.

Several experts consider the hotel and restaurant services, the lack of experience in these fields, the lack of trained staff as the main problem.

These along with the missing qualification of staff have a negative impact in offering quality services. /ibna/
