Albania and Kosovo open for the first time a joint diplomatic center in the EU. The inauguration of the joint consulate (photo) between Albania and Kosovo was made in Milan. This consulate will offer services for citizens of both countries. Present in this ceremony were both ministers of foreign affairs, the Albanian one, Ditmir Bushati and that of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, along with members of the diplomatic corpus and senior Italian state officials.
The new consulate in Milan will offer services for the citizens of Albania and Kosovo in modern premises and in a shorter period of time, thus improving the quality of the services being offered.
In their speech, ministers Bushati and Hoxhaj said that” the consulate is an important step in the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries and is a clear indicator of the our work and will to be closer to our fellow countrymen, offering them quality and transparent services”.
This representation is based on the agreement between the two governments for consular representation and the Action Protocol for the implementation of this agreement for consular representation of the Republic of Kosovo at the General Consulate in Milan and consular representation of the Republic of Albania at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Canberra, Australia signed in Pristina in March of this year.
Milan is a region where there are 350 thousand Albanians living, mainly Albanians from Albania. More than 150 countries have their consulates in Milan. /ibna/
