Albania’s national side led by the Italian coach, Giovanni De Biasi, will play on Friday, 13 November at 2 pm, a friendly match in Pristina against Kosovo. This match will be played to celebrate Albania’s historical qualification in Euro 2016 which will be played in France.
The match was an incentive of Kosovo Football Association (FKK). This match is expected to turn into a real celebration, as many of Albania’s players were born in Kosovo.
FKK, which was set up in 1946, as an affiliate of the Yugoslav Football Association, has demanded to be recognized by UEFA and FIFA after the proclamation of Kosovo’s independence, but it hasn’t yet managed to achieve this. FIFA has allowed Kosovo’s national side to play friendly matches.
From 1993 until 2015, Kosovo’s national side has played 11 friendly matches. Out of these, it has won four, drawn in one and lost six. Kosovo has scored 16 goals and conceded 18 goals.
The best result for Kosovo has been achieved on April 22, 2006, 7-1 against Monaco, while the worst result was registered on 21 May 2014 when it was defeated 6 goals to 1 by Turkey in Mitrovica.
Albania and Kosovo have played three friendly matches. All matches have been won by Albanian national side. The first match ended 3-1, the second one 1-0 and the third one 3-2. /ibna/
