Agreements with Serbia must be put to practice, says the president of Kosovo

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga received today the political director at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Jan Kickert. The two personalities talked about the processes that Kosovo is going through following the signing of the Stability and Association agreement. During this meeting, Jahjaga said that all the agreements reached between Kosovo and Serbia must be put to practice.

President Jahjaga and Kickert talked about the democratic processes that Kosovo is going through, the approach of the country with the EU and other processes.

Jahjaga said that Kosovo has seen major progress, especially in its European integration perspective and praised the importance of this month’s initiation of SAA between the Republic of Kosovo and EU and the possibility to enable the citizens of Kosovo to travel without visas in the EU member countries, through the process of the liberalization of visas, says the press statement released by the president’s office.

“President Jahjaga said that Kosovo is a factor of piece and stability in the region and a promoter of good neighboring relations and it has testified this in the process of talks for the normalization of relations with the Republic of Serbia. She said that all the agreements reached through the talks, must be put to practice and this would help in the free movement of the citizens in any part of Kosovo, without any barricades”, reads the press statement.

Meanwhile, political director at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Jan Kickert, stressed Kosovo’s progress in the European agenda and its participation in the regional incentives.

He said that the EU perspective for all the countries of Western Balkan is open and highlighted the importance of the continuation of talks for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. /ibna/
