Agreement on energy and telephone code to be reached until the end of the month, Kosovo’s PM says

The agreement on energy, telephone code and Association of Serb Communes, is expected to be reached at the end of this month in Brussels.

This was declared today by Kosovo’s PM, Isa Mustafa in a press conference, where he presented the achievements of the government in the domain of economy, mines and energy.

“We have worked in order to harmonize our stances in relation to the Association of Serb Communes. There are still pending issues and we will try to harmonize our stances. We will also insist for the Association not to have executive responsibilities and not to be a third power in Kosovo”, Mustafa declared.

Mustafa said energy, the country’s telephone code and the Association will be signed as part of a package.

The Prime Minister said that the technical level meeting with the Serb side will take place on August 24, while the two prime ministers will meet on August 25.

Meanwhile Mustafa has also talked about the development of the energy sector in the country.

Kosovo’s PM promised that there will soon be a selection of the company which will build “New Kosovo” thermal power station.

“In the energy sector, we will continue to work for the construction of ‘New Kosovo’ thermal power station which will have a capacity of 600 megawatts. We are soon expecting to finalize the negotiating process and decide on further process with the ‘Glabel Control’ company, which is the only company remaining in the contest. We’re also interested on working to revitalize Thermal Power Station Kosovo B”, Mustafa said.

Mustafa also commented the efforts being made to create a joint energy market with Albania.

“We’re working in order to set up a joint energy market. Currently we’re working with Albanian authorities in relation to this aspect and we are expecting to have a joint line in 2016”, Mustafa said. /ibna/
