Agreement between Albania and India to avoid double taxation

An agreement was signed (photo) between the Government of the Republic of India and the Council of Ministers of Albania in New Delhi to Avoid Double Taxation and Prevent Tax Evasion Relating to Taxation over Incomes and Capital.

For the Albanian side, the agreement was signed by ambassador Fatos Kerciku, while for the Indian side, it was signed by the chairwoman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes and Special Secretary of the Indian Government Dr. Sudha Sharma.

This Agreement will be applied for persons who are resident of one or both Contracting States for taxes on incomes and capital, introduced on behalf of a ContractingState or administrative subdivisions or its local authorities.

The agreement also contains provisions for mutual procedures, whereby competent authorities can discuss individual cases to eliminate double taxation. /ibna/
