A Greek woman is among those injured in the terrorist attack in Barcelona on Thursday evening, the foreign ministry said in a press release, citing information from Spanish authorities.
“According to the official information from Spanish authorities so far, a Greek citizen is among the injured,” the ministry said, adding that Greece’s embassy in Madrid and the personnel in the Greek consulate in Barcelona are in continuous communication with Spanish authorities and are offering consular assistance.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras expressed Greece’s solidarity with the Spanish people after the terrorist attack in Barcelona on Thursday evening, and the country’s sympathy for the families of the victims.
“These difficult moments, our thoughts are in Barcelona. We express our solidarity with the Spanish people and our sympathy for the families of the victims,” he tweeted.
New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his sadness for the terrorist attack in Barcelona on Thursday, calling it “an attack on our freedom and values”.
“Another attack on our freedom and values. Our weapons are our decisiveness and persistence in them. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims,” he tweeted./IBNA
