Around 33 thousand signatures against the increase of the price of electricity have been sent today to the parliament of Kosovo, namely the committee for human rights and gender equality. Representatives of 70 organizations said that if these demands are taken into consideration, then there will be no protests.
These signatures belong to the citizens of Kosovo, who express their discontent against the increase of the price of electricity, demanding for the price of electricity to reflect the social and economic state of consumers.
Arberesha Bytyqi, representative of the Coalition of Consumers, Unions and NGOs, said that these signatures show once again the discontent of the citizens of Kosovo. She said that there will also be other incentives which hope on bring the price of electricity down.
“If parliament of Kosovo doesn’t grant the motion and doesn’t take into consideration these demands, then, our organizations will engage in other activities, which will express the discontent of the people, including protests”, said Bytyqi.
The signing of this petition started last September. These organizations demand from the parliament of Kosovo to deliberate the demands of over 10 thousand citizens relating to the price of electricity. /ibna/
