Macedonian opposition MPs resigned today from their mandates.
The leader of the biggest opposition party LSDM (Macedonian Social Democratic League), Zoran Zaev said that with this decision, the opposition confirms its positioning that it refused to recognize the elections and that it gives up on its mandates in parliament.
“There cannot be participation in a parliament which doesn’t express the true will of the citizens. Therefore, nobody can change the positioning of the opposition. We’re strongly determined not to accept the mandates”, declared Zaev
The resignation was filed by 33 MPs of the opposition, with the exemption of one MP, Roza Topuzovska-Karevska, who declared today that she didn’t intend on giving up her mandate and that she would continue her political activity in parliament.
The leader of the Macedonian opposition said that in cooperation with all opposition forces, a political platform is being prepared for action outside parliament until the right conditions are enable to hold fresh elections which must be free and democratic and where the will of the people is expressed. /ibna/
