Ministry of Interior in FYROM has informed that last week, around 3023 permits have been issued for foreign migrants from the countries of Middle East and Africa. With the recent amendments in the law on migrants, they are being issued with a permit of 72 hours and then leave the country.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Ivo Kotevski declared that the number of migrants in the territory of the country entering from Greece is increasing.

“For a week, the Ministry of Interior has issued permits for 3023 migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Congo, Pakistan, etc. We are following the situation on ground”, Kotevski declared. According to him, police continues to hunt people who handle the trafficking of migrants. Meanwhile, there are thousands of other migrants who are exploiting illegal routes.

On Saturday, authorities have arrested three people as part of a human trafficking ring from the southern city of Gevgelija to Kumanovo.

Human rights organization “CIVIL” says that hundreds of migrants are stuck in the border area between Greece and FYR Macedonia, being prevented by police authorities to enter the country.

Meanwhile, Muslim believers have not allowed the gathering of foreign migrants in mosque, due to the month of Ramadan and religious activities. /ibna/
