Delegations from Greece and Turkey will hold their second meeting in Athens on Monday, February 1, 2016, on the management of the migration crisis.
The delegation of the Greek side is comprised of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, Hellenic Police Headquarters, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy and Hellenic Coastguard Headquarters.
These meetings aim at the enhancement of cooperation between the two neighbouring countries on the issue of migration and its management, which causes problems on both sides of the Aegean, where the largest flow of migrants is observed.
The opening of the discussions and cooperation between Greece and Turkey on the migration issue is intended to verify the very good cooperation between the leaderships of the two Foreign ministries, which is a necessary condition to solve the major chronic open issues that have been plaguing the relations between the two countries.
