NK Maribor secured a place in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round after an easy 2-0 victory against HŠK Zrinjski in Slovenia.
Dare Vršič scored near the end of half-time for the hosts with a free-kick and Agim Ibraimi extended Maribor’s lead with a 57th-minute penalty after Zrinjski goalkeeper Ratko Dujković was adjudged to have fouled Petar Stojanovič.
The Slovenian Champions looked comfortable for the rest of the game and continued to threaten, but the score stayed the same, which was enough to take them to the next qualifying round with a 2:0 aggregate after a goalless draw in the first leg.
Maribor will now face Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC in the third qualifying round.
