The 19th World Conference of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots – the World Coordinating Committee of the Cyprus Struggle (POMAK and PSEKA) and the meeting of the Executive Council of the World Organisation for Young Overseas Cypriots (NEPOMAK) will be held on 21-24 August 2017, at “Filoxenia” Conference Center, in Nicosia.
The Conferences will be inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, on Monday, August 21. At the inaugural ceremony, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots, Mr Photis Photiou, will welcome the delegates, while the President of the House of Representatives, Mr Demetris Syllouris, the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Terens Quick will address the delegates. The Conference will also be addressed by POMAK President, Mr Andreas Papaevripides, PSEKA President, Mr Philip Christopher and NEPOMAK President, Mrs Antonιia Savvides.
Within the framework of the Conference, the Central Council of the Overseas Cypriots organisations will be received by the President of the Republic, at the Presidential Palace. In addition, the delegates will be briefed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Energy and Finance on matters of their competence, as well as by the Presidential Commissioner. On the second day of the Conference, parliamentary Party leaders or representatives will address the Conference and discuss various issues with the delegates. Other governmental and non-governmental bodies will also brief Overseas Cypriots on a variety of topics./IBNA
