14 political parties will compete in the early parliamentary elections of April 27 in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. State Election Commission (SEC) confirmed that out of 14 political parties, a part of them are part of coalitions.
This is the e smallest number of political competitors in elections ever held in FYR Macedonia.
The main race amongst Macedonian parties will be held between two big coalitions. One of them is led by VMRO-DPMNE which is in power. The other is the Macedonian opposition coalition led by Macedonian Social Democratic League (LSDM).
Meanwhile, as far as Albanian parties are concerned, the race will take place between Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) and Albanian Democratic Party (PDSH). National Democratic Renaissance (RDK) also aims to win seats in parliament.
Parties and coalitions will race with their lists in 6 constituencies of the country.
Part of the elections will also be three constituencies from the Diaspora from Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.
These elections will elect 123 MPs.
The campaign for the early parliamentary elections will start on April 5. For several days, it will be held alongside the presidential campaign, while the presidential elections will take place on April 13.
