In FYR Macedonia, around 80 thousand properties, mainly consisting in homes and apartments, have been mortgaged.
The Cadastre Office has issued a report where it offers a true picture of mortgages, considering the fact that citizens increasingly mortgage their homes to secure a bank loan as a concerning fact.
According to the Cadastre, one in 12 properties in the country has been mortgaged and used as a guarantee in paying off their bank loans. The general value of mortgaged properties is estimated to be around 1,8 billion Euros. The number of mortgaged properties has increased by 30% in a year.
Most of these properties are located in Skopje, around 32 thousand, Manastir, around 4 thousand, Kumanovo, around 3500 thousand. /ibna/
