The American multinational corporation Tesla that specializes in electric vehicles, energy storage and solar panel manufacturing will is planning to launch in Turkey this year, as the company’s CEO announced through social media.
“Btw, planning to launch Tesla in Turkey later this year. Love your country & will be there in person for the launch”, Elon Musk wrote in a post on his Twitter account.
As of February 2018, Tesla has produced over 300,000 electric cars.
According to Turkey’s Anadolu, “The Model S, its most popular car, has sold more than 200,000 units so far and was the world’s best-selling electric vehicle in 2015 and 2016.”
The company’s electric vehicles could prove very helpful for the Turkish car drivers and the country as a whole since they could help a state still “highly dependent on oil imports”. Thus, “electric cars could provide some relief for its gasoline consumption.”…. / IBNA
