In Albania, the number of foreigners who visit the country for different purposes has grown by 20%.
But, only 1,1% of them declare that they come to Albania for business purposes.
Official data indicate that in the second quarter of the year, the number of foreigners who entered Albania was 973,362. Compared to the same period of 2014, this number has grown by 19,4%.;
Meanwhile, over one million Albanian citizens have left the country, marking an increase of 10,1%.
The number of foreign visitors who have entered the country for holidays and daily visits in the third quarter of the year, is 325 thousand visitors, while in the same quarter a year ago, this figure was 229 thousand visitors.
In the meantime, those who have entered the country through the land borders amount to 85,3%, the number of those who have entered the country by air occupies 10,4% of the total and by sea this figure is 4,3%.
In Albania, the number of foreign visitors who arrive in the country for personal purposes in this quarter is 963,556 and they make up for 98,9% of the total number of visitors. This includes holiday visits, visits from relatives and friends, visits for health purposes and also for religious purposes. Compared to the same period of 2014, the number of visitors entering the country for personal reasons has grown by 20,2%.
Visitors for business purposes amount to 1,1%.
In this quarter, the number of foreign nationals who visit Albania from Europe is 921, 331 and makes up for 94,6% of the total number of visitors.
The number of visitors from Western European countries is 54 thousand and compared to the second quarter of 2014, it has fallen by 1,7%, while the number of visitors from Southern European countries is 772 thousand and this number has grown by 23,4%. /ibna/
