Over a hundred thousand refugees and migrants have entered Greece illegally in August alone.
The huge flow of refugees and immigrants in Greece is reflected in figures released by the Coast Guard for the month of August.
Specifically, 107,843 illegal entrants were arrested in Greece in this period in 887 cases, while 46 people in 28 incidents were arrested for attempting to exit the country illegally.
Also arrested were 53 traffickers in incidents of illegal entry in thirteen in illegal exit incidents. In incidents of illegal entry 271 boats and a vehicle were seized, while on those of illegal exit were seized six vehicles and 32 false travel documents.
In August as well, according to figures from the Coast Guard, 5028 packs of cigarettes were seized, eleven kilos and 729 grams of tobacco in five incidents. They seized two vehicles and six accused persons, while the evaded duties are in the region of 19,908.15 euros.
Finally, the coast guard intervened for drugs in 44 cases, for which 44 persons were accused. They seized 57.7 grams of processed cannabis, 847.5 grams of raw hemp and five improvised cigarettes, 25.8 grams of heroin, 34.2 grams of cocaine 50 plants (seeds) cannabis and sedative drugs.
