Negotiations between the leaders of the two main Macedonian parties, VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM (Macedonian Social Democratic League) have lasted for around 10 hours, but neither of the sides has given any details on the meeting which was held yesterday afternoon in Strasbourg.
Sources within the European Parliament declared that the talks have lasted until 3.30 am and the negotiators of the talks were MEPs Ivo Vajgl, Eduard Kukan and Richard Howitt, but also the European Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.
Euro MP, Ivo Vajgl said in a short statement for the media that the meeting was valuable and according to him, both sides will come out with a joint declaration on the content of the talks and what can be done to find a solution to the political crisis in FYROM. The meeting was held with closed doors, while the delegations also included senior officials of both political parties. Among them were also the Foreign Minister, Nikola Poposki and the resigned head of secret services, Saso Mijalkov.
Meanwhile, SDSM delegation was made up of Zoran Zaev, Renata Deskoska and Robert Poposki. /ibna/
