A positive annual inflation, namely 0.1%, was recorded in Greece in February 2016, compared to the -0.1% in January, according to figures published by Eurostat. A year ago the figure was -1.9%.
Overall, the Eurozone annual inflation in February was -0.2%, from 0.3% in January and -0.3% a year ago. In the EU, annual inflation was also 0.2% in February, compared to 0.3% in January and -0.3% a year ago.
Negative annual inflation rates were observed in February in 15 member states of the EU member states. The lowest annual rates were recorded in Cyprus (-2.2%) and Romania (-2.1%), while the highest in Belgium (1.1%), Austria and Malta (1%).
Compared to December 2015, annual inflation fell in twenty member states, remained stable in one and rose in six.
