Visa restrictions on Turkey are lifted, says the American Embassy in Ankara

After some two-and-half months with tit-for-tat visa and further travel restrictions as a result of a raw between the U.S. and Turkey, that erupted early in October 2017, the American Embassy in the Turkish capital announced it resumes full visa services in the Turkey, lifting all relevant restrictions on the country.

As Reuters and the English online edition of Yeni Safak have reported, following the statement, the Turkish embassy in Washington said it welcomes the decision and it has also lifted all visa restrictions for U.S. citizens.

News of the decision come nearly 10 days after the U.S. of A. announced that "earliest visa appointments would be scheduled for January 2019."

The American statement helped the Turkish lira stabilise to 3.78 against the dollar, "its highest level since October 31.".../IBNA
