Threatening letters and a lawsuit for high treason in fYROMacedonia
Following the first parliamentary vote on the agreement with Greece about the name issue, the MPs of the fYROMacedonian majority received threatening letters.

MP Ivanov Tufegcik published a letter signed by an unknown organisation. The letter threatens Members of Parliament that if they vote in favour of the deal for a second time, they will be held responsible for high treason.

"Remember that the vote on this agreement will cause unrest that will lead the country to early elections. You will no longer be elected parliamentarians and you will end up in jail", the letter read.

On Thursday, July 5, VMRO-DPMNE filed criminal charges to prosecution on organized crime and corruption, against Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, House Speaker Talat Xhaferi, and all MPs who voted for the deal with Greece, according to a statement from the main opposition party.

"The criminal charges concern four criminal acts: high treason, the risk of independence, co-operation in committing hostile acts and the abuse of power", the VMRO-DPMNE statement said.

This is not VMRO-DPMNE's first indictment against state leadership. They have also called for criminal prosecutions for the adoption of the law on the wider use of the Albanian language in the country.... / IBNA
