The upward trend of Cyprus' tourism continues - record arrivals in June and first half of 2017
Another month with high levels of tourist arrivals was added to Cyprus's successful tourist season. According to the latest official data released today, the arrivals of June 2017 amounted to about 472,000, marking an increase of 14.4%, compared to the corresponding arrivals in June 2016. With this performance, this June is recorded as the best of all time, as well as the second month with most arrivals in the time of the Cypriot tourism after July 2016, when arrivals had reached about 482,000.

In terms of total arrivals for the first half of this year (January - June), they reached 1.5 million, up 16.6% compared to the same period in 2016. This is a new record for the first half of a year.

It is stressed that for the first half of the year, all the main markets in Cyprus recorded an increase (United Kingdom +9.7%, Russia +11.3%, Nordic countries +16.2% (average increase), while what stands out is the sharp increase in arrivals from Germany +53.2% and Israel +81.1%./IBNA
