Through the process of integration in the European Union, the Balkan countries are becoming more competitive.

This was admitted by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, during the 7th conference for the Countries of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe hosted by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, Germany.

Sejko briefed the participants on the challenges that the process of convergence of Southeast Europe is facing in the Bank of Albania's view and the positioning of the country in front of these challenges.

Meanwhile, Sejko said that macro-economic policy making has seen an improvement recently and that this has helped in achieving long-term and sustainable economic growth.

According to him, the long-term future and economic prosperity are closely linked to the process of convergence and integration in the EU. /balkaneu.com/
