Serbia withdraws its diplomatic staff from its embassy in Skopje
Last night, Serb authorities have withdrawn the entire diplomatic staff from the embassy in Skopje. The Serb ambassador, Dusanka Divjak-Tomic said she has demanded more security measures around the embassy, under the Vienna Convention for diplomatic relations.

Foreign Ministry in Skopje said that it has received a diplomatic note from the embassy of the Republic of Serbia, stressing that the embassy’s personnel has been summoned for consultations in Belgrade.

“The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Macedonia has not been informed about the motives of this decision, but communication has been established with the Serb Foreign Ministry to learn the reasons for this action. On the other hand, under the Vienna Convention for diplomatic relations, the institutions of the country have taken adequate measures to guarantee the security of the embassy”, Foreign Ministry in Skopje said.

Meanwhile, Belgrade is expected to offer explanations today about this sudden decision. /balkaneu.com/
