Hypothetically speaking, if Romania wanted to fix all holes in its national road network, the government would need to spend 4 billion euros.

"The national company that manages the road infrastructure – CNAIR only has a maintenance and repair budget of EUR 800 million, according to transport minister Lucian Sova, local Agerpres reported. Moreover, drawing EU funds for fixing the national road network is fiction, he added", is what Romania Insider reports, citing the state-run news agency of the country.

In all about 17,000 kilometres across Romania or else 200 national roads might have to be checked so as to determine what part of them needs fixing... / IBNA
