Remittances are reducing poverty in Kosovo
Remittances of funds from the Diaspora to Kosovo, continue to represent one of the main sources of funding for household consumption in the country.

This is stated by the latest report of the Central Bank of Kosovo, which stressed that for several years now, remittances have reduced trade deficit and poverty in the country.

According to the recent data supplied by the Central Bank of Kosovo, remittances in 2017 amounted to 759.2 million euros, while in 2016, they amounted to 691 million euros.

“During the period from 2004 until 2017, remittances grew by around 6% a year”, states the report.

According to the central bank, remittances in Kosovo have reduced trade deficit for goods and services. Kosovo receives remittances from Germany, Switzerland, USA, Italy, Sweden, Austria, France, UK and other states. /ibna/
