Opposition in Kosovo accuses the president of blocking the Central Election Commission
Democratic League of Kosovo has raised its concern today about the fact that the members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) have not yet been appointed.

LDK’s whip, Avdullah Hoti, said that the fact that president Hashim Thaci has failed to appoint the members of CEC, has given rise to a dangerous precedent for the electoral system and democracy in the country.

“The president has been blocking the functioning of the Central Election Commission since 27 March 2018. This is the first time that this happens since the creation of this institution. The president is not fulfilling his constitutional obligation, although political parties have already sent their proposals”, Hoti said. /ibna/
