Kosovo to hold local government elections on 22 October
President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci has decided 22 October 2017 as the date for the holding of local government elections.

Thaci took this decision following a meeting with political parties.

The President has instructed the Central Election Commission to take all necessary measures to hold the local government elections in compliance with his decision and legislation in force.

Local government elections will be held in 38 communes of Kosovo. In these elections, voters will elect the new heads of communes and new councilmen.

Year 2017 is considered an election year in Kosovo. The country held a general election on June 11, which are expected to generate a new government. /balkaneu.com/
