In the first quarter of 2014, Kosovo has produced around 2,143 thousand tons of coal. In this period, the gross quantity of electricity produced in thermal power stations is 1,795.7 GW/h. The other 19,6 GW/h have been produced by hydro power plants.

These figures have been included in the “Energy Report” published by the Agency of Statistics of Kosovo (ASK) for this quarter. This report shows data concerning the production and consumption of coal, production and consumption of electricity and import and export of electricity.

Referring to the same period, Kosovo has imported 167,2 GW/h of electricity, while the report says that compared to the same quarter of last year, there’s a fall of imported electricity by 27,2%.

“In the first quarter of 2014, Kosovo has exported 243,1 GW/h of electricity and compared to the first quarter of last year, export is up by 142,1%”, says the report. /ibna/
