Ibrahim Kalin: “We don’t want war anywhere in the world”
“We do not want war anywhere in the world. We do not believe that war will contribute to the peace of humanity anywhere in the world whether it is regional or global, whether it is fought with conventional weapons or is in the form of a nuclear escalation” said Deputy Secretary General and Spokesperson of the Presidency Ambassador İbrahim Kalın in an interview to Best FM.

Regarding the tension between the US and North Korea, Spokesperson Kalın said: “We do not want war anywhere in the world. We do not believe that war will contribute to the peace of humanity anywhere in the world whether it be regional or global, whether it is fought with conventional weapons or is in the form of a nuclear escalation.”

Recalling the wars in Turkey’s near geography, Spokesperson Kalın said that they have always used the same peaceful tone and discourse about them. Spokesperson Kalın said: “When you look at the escalating situation between North Korea and the US, you see in its background that there is a geopolitically ongoing power struggle between the US and China in the region. North Korea is an element of that.”

Pointing to President Erdoğan’s remarks last week that they do not want a nuclear escalation, conflict, war there, Spokesperson Kalın said: “We hope the tension will subside.”/IBNA
