Ecologists in Croatia accuse government of inadequate green policy

Ecologists in Croatia accuse government of inadequate green policy

Review by Christos T. Panagopoulos

The Ecological Association, Eko Kvarner, has accused the Croatian government of preventing further development of renewable energy sources.

They say the National Action Plan from the Ministry of Economy, “radically reduces the planned wind power capacity”. They insist that the same document also provides a too low quota for solar power.

Eko Kvarner suspects the government does it all to prepare the atmosphere to build a power plant Plomin C (coal power plant type) in the western peninsula of Istria.
