Croatia's Q3 survey unemployment rate down to 10.9 pct
The survey unemployment rate in Croatia fell to 10.9% in the third quarter of 2016 from 15.4% in the corresponding period of 2015, show the results of a labour force survey carried out by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

The survey unemployment rate in the third quarter of 2016 was 1.9 percentage points lower than in the second quarter of the year, when it stood at 12.8%.

The number of unemployed people in the third quarter of 2016 was 202,000, or 95,000 fewer than in the third quarter of 2015.

The number of employed Croatians in the third quarter of 2016 was 1.6 million, about 23,000 more than in the second quarter of 2016 and 14,000 more than in the third quarter of 2015.

The employment-to-population ratio in the third quarter of 2016 was 45.8%, up from 45.1% in the previous quarter and from 45.3% in the third quarter of 2015.

The economically active population rate was 51.4%, down by 0.3 percentage points from 51.7% in the second quarter of 2016 and down by 2.1 percentage points from 53.5% in the third quarter of 2015./IBNA
