“Sustainable energy” is the new petition which citizens of are invited to sign, if they want “the energy system in their country to be non corrupt, clean and efficient”.

This petition has been launched by ATRC in cooperation with 17 organizations from 7 countries of the region, which are implementing the project South East Europe Sustainable Energy Policy, funded by the European Commission.

In the framework of this, energy ministers from the region are expected to meet in Tirana on 16 October to agree on the reform of the Energy Community.

This petition calls on governments of Southeastern European countries and European Commission “to invest more in household energy efficiency, which will help citizens reduce their power supply bills”.

“You must investigate and prosecute all cases of corruption. This will encourage new and more responsible investors. Approve and deliver the EU climate objectives with EU funds and support”, the petition says.

The petition signed in Kosovo will be delivered to the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community on 16 October in Tirana. /ibna/
