Cavusoglu's intense reaction over Greece granting asylum to alleged coup plotter
The Turkish Foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu reacted negatively to the fact that Greece granted asylum to one more Turkish officer, among the totally eight who fled Turkey after the failed coup against president Erdogan, in 2016 and came to Greece.

Ankara claims that the eight servicemen were members of the coup plot while Athens is not extraditing them to Turkey with a decision by the Greek Justice.

Speaking to Anadolu state-news agency, Mevlut Cavusoglu said that "what is happening is weird. Greece wanted to return them to Turkey but the West pushed the authorities not to do so. The (Greek) government wants to extradite them. I want to be clear, Tsipras gad given his word to our president. Kotzias had promised me the same. He had told me 'we will return them to you (Turkey). These people are coup organisers and we have suffered from coups.' Although the Greek officials had made their decision on the matter, Greek Justice decided otherwise, freed them and now are granting them asylum.".... / IBNA
