Albania should replace narcotic substances with aromatic and medicinal plants, Agricultural minister says
Instead of narcotic substances, farmers should cultivate aromatic and medicinal plants. This has been the topic of discussions in the Second Congress of Industry of the Cultivation and Processing of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants in Albania, which was held in Korca.

On his part, minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, said that this sector is being diversified more and more and that the range of plants being cultivated and processed is becoming greater.

“Big investments have been made in this sector and the range of exports has expanded a lot. After the certification of Albanian medicinal and aromatic plants, we have decided to improve quality indicators. But what we must preserve are the authentic varieties and this is our priority”, he said.

Meanwhile, the minister of Agriculture said that Albania is second in the world for the production of sage and that it covers around 70% of the American market with this plant.

The Congress also appealed that medicinal plants in our country have not been exploited or explored and are very little exposed in foreign markets. /balkaneu.com/
